Oh, the GRE. Once I've taken a few tests I might get back to what it's about and how to do well on it, but right now, it just seems like a looming multi-hour block exam. Lovely. I'm sure it's not that bad.
2 more years. 2 more years until I graduate with my bachelor's. Then, hopefully, I'll be moving on to my PhD. I need to start looking at PhD programs soon, though, and start contacting professors that I want to work for. That'll be a task for this year. That, and bringing up my GPA. Apparently, loving learning isn't good enough. I seriously need to learn to work harder.
Every day I should set aside some time to either read biology or Dream of the Red Chamber or study my GRE vocab. I need more self-discipline.
In grad school, I'll probably be taking some mechanical engineering and computer science classes alongside my biology courses. See, right now I kind of want to do biomimetics, which is designing technology based on biology. For example, making something stick to the wall like a gecko. Or velcro, maybe the earliest biomimicry. Or building a feather. Hopefully I'll be getting a stipend then. I'm sick of only spending money and making none.
But also, I need to take this one step at a time, one day at a time, starting with knowing my biology and learning my GRE vocab.
Keeping long-term and short-term goals in mind at the same time. That's the plan. I just need to follow up on it.
I can do this.
