The Oriental Pearl - A Love Song for Hong Kong

Dear winding stream, flow to the south
To the river where the water is sweet,
To see my Pearl, my dear lover,
Is your air as full of romance as it once was?

Harbor reflecting the curve of the moon,
Deep in the night, your fire shines bright.
Oriental Pearl, city that never sleeps,
You hold close the promise of great change.

The sea wind has caressed you for five thousand years
Each teardrop speaks all it can of your dignity
My arms are in the tide embracing you
Keep the memory of my face dear to you

The curve of the boat enters the harbor
As I look back and only see the dark and misty sea
The Pearl of the Orient is holding me close
Let me warm and brighten your lonely heart
