What my PhD is about.

We are writing a model,

trying to represent a jellyfish -

a living thing,

with all its living intricacies -

in math and code

in the hopes that it will be enough.

Of course, it's never enough.

There is not enough math in the world

to describe life.

It can only describe a crude facsimile,

an automaton,

never enough pixels to be a true mirror.

But maybe it can teach us something

all the same.

So we build and code

to learn what life knows

that we do not.
