My sister is 10. She's scared of turning 11, because then she'll be a pre-teen. She's more scared of turning 13, she says. "That's when they start kissing in books."
It doesn't work to explain that kissing is a choice you make and that I thought it was gross until I was 14 (my dad was surprised), although I never took it to her levels. She thinks it's gross in Disney movies.
Guess we'll celebrate her 10th birthday twice, and skip right on to 12.
